Configuring an EX Controller

After the EX Controller is physically connected to the MiVoice Business network, you must add the EX Controller to MiVoice Business by configuring the IP address or host name and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) details of the EX Controller.

NOTE: The IP address, SNMPv3 privacy password, user name, and password must be pre configured for the EX Controller using the Mediatrix Web Management interface.

Adding an EX Controller

To add an EX Controller to MiVoice Business:

  1. Go to the Enterprise Gateways form. Enterprise Gateways

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter the following details:

  4. IP/FQDN - IP address or the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the EX Controller

  5. Privacy Password - Privacy password of the EX Controller

  6. User - Web Management account user name

  7. Password - Web Management account password

  1. If you want the trunk profiles to be auto-programmed:

    1. Select the Auto Program Trunk Profiles check box.

    2. In the First Trunk Service Number box, enter a valid trunk number. This will be used as the first trunk number when auto programming all the trunks.

  2. Click Save.

Modify an EX Controller

To modify the EX Controller:

  1. Go to the Enterprise Gateways form. Enterprise Gateways

  2. Select the EX Controller that you want to modify.

  3. Click Change.

  4. Under Authentication, modify the following details:

  5. IP/FQDN - IP address or the FQDN of the EX Controller

  6. Privacy Password - Privacy password of the EX Controller

  7. User - Web Management account user name

  8. Password - Web Management account password

  1. (Optional) Under Advanced, update the following details:

  2. Update IPv4 Address - IPv4 address of the EX controller

  3. Update IPv4 Subnet Mask - IPv4 subnet mask of the EX controller

  4. Update IPv4 Gateway Address - IPv4 gateway address of the EX controller

  1. Click Save.
